Ellwood Ellison was sour on life since his father disappeared just before his fifth birthday. He remained friendless throughout his school years until he accidentally collided with Suzi in a grocery store. Because of an incident in her past, the beautiful Suzi is attracted to Ellwood’s bumbling innocence. 


As his wife, Suzi patiently coaches Ellwood to overcome his many character flaws. She also introduces him to Pastor Ken who explains to a skeptical Ellwood about God’s love, forgiveness and the power of prayer.  They become close friends and work together on a project that Ellwood hopes will prevent other young people from suffering the kind of childhood he had.


He also encounters more friends, including a reckless motorcyclist, a corporate CEO, and a crusty farmer with a pet goat.


And one enemy.  Who is determined to profit from Ellwood’s secret.


Follow Ellwood through a series of poignant and humorous situations to learn the secret of what is buried beneath the marigolds.

RICHARD

Richard Tilbury was born and raised in Red Wing, Minnesota, a small, scenic city on the banks of the Mississippi River. After college and a stint in the military, he started his corporate career with IBM. 


Employment opportunities led him to live in Tennessee and North Carolina. While living in Nashville, TN, he was brought into the church and accepted Christ into his heart. 

 

He and his wife, Sally, now live in South Carolina and enjoy traveling to indulge Richard’s passion for landscape photography. When at home, they enjoy an active social life and especially time with his two daughters, two granddaughters and one (so far) great-grandson. 


He is currently working on his next novel.
